COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Authorities have identified the gunman responsible for the deadly sniper ambush on Canfield Mountain as Wess Roley, following an hours-long active shooter situation that claimed the lives of two firefighters and left a third critically injured. Roley, whose body was discovered Sunday evening near a firearm, is believed to have set a brush fire in the rugged, forested terrain outside Coeur d’Alene with the intent to lure firefighters into a deadly trap. Two firefighters — one from the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department and the other from Kootenai County Fire & Rescue — were fatally shot while assessing the scene.

Injuries are reported, but the extent is unknown. Avoid the area.”   Fire crews were forced to pull back, and the brush fire remains an active threat. Authorities urge residents nearby to remain cautious and alert, as the situation is still unfolding.

 Milwaukee Police Officer Kendall Corder, 32, has died from injuries sustained in a shooting that occurred while he was responding to a shots fired call Thursday night on the city’s north side. His death was confirmed by family members. Officer Corder was one of two officers ambushed during the incident, which unfolded around 9 p.m. on June 26 near 25th and Garfield.  WAYNE, MI — Authorities have identified the suspect involved in Sunday’s attempted shooting at CrossPointe Community Church as 31-year-old Brian Browning, a white male from Romulus, Michigan.  Browning was fatally shot by a church security guard after allegedly attempting to carry out a violent attack during a morning worship service. The incident occurred just after 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025, during a special Vacation Bible School service attended by approximately 150 congregants, including many children.  The church is located at 36125 Glenwood Road in Wayne, between South Wayne and South Newburgh roads.  CHICAGO, IL – A Chicago police officer has died following a shooting Thursday night in the city’s Chatham neighborhood.  The officer, identified as 36-year-old Krystal Rivera, was fatally shot while responding to an incident near the 8200-block of South Drexel Avenue, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD). The incident occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. when officers from the 6th District Tactical Team attempted to stop a male suspect.  As they approached, the suspect fled on foot and entered a nearby building.
