Shawn Reed s 290 MPH Dragster Crash Shocks NHRA Fans – Miracle Escape in Seattle!

 It appears Shawn Reed's engine blew or clutch blew, shrapnel from this explosion punctured the slick. The flying rubber then 

destroyed the carbon fiber rear wing, sending flying debris from both into the RV park.


Shawn was alert but was transported to the hospital to be examined.

Owner-driver Shawn Reed suffered at least a hand injury Saturday during Top Fuel qualifying for the Muckleshoot Casino and Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals when his Reed Trucking and Excavating Dragster crashed at nearly 300 mph.


Reed, conscious and alert and communicating with emergency medical personnel in the aftermath of the wreck, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.


His dragster lost the right rear tire as he powered down the right lane. That disabled the rear wing, causing the car to spin around and nose into the opposite wall in front of qualifying leader Doug Kalitta."
