PAGELAND, S.C. – Late Saturday, investigators working the murder of a 17-year-old boy at the Pageland Watermelon Festival arrested another 17-year-old Chesterfield County boy and charged him with murder.
Chesterfield County court officials confirm Jayden Jeremiah Jefferies is charged with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and an additional enhancement involving a concealed weapon. Jefferies was booked into the county jail Saturday where his bond was denied.
The bond denial is standard practice because of the severity of the felony offenses charged, bond cannot be set by a county magistrate. Jefferies will be held without bond until he faces a circuit court judge during the next term of general sessions court in Chesterfield County.
Central High School head football coach, Jonathan Eason, confirmed the victim is Sean Davis, 17. The school’s track team and football team also posted Davis’ death. The teen was a member of both the track and football at Central High.
The track team was scheduled to run in the Watermelon Festival’s 5K set for Saturday morning and Davis was supposed to participate. This is Jayden Jefferies, the suspect in shooting death of 17-year-old Sean Davis during the Pageland Watermelon Festival.
