The National Weather Service warns rising rivers may prolong flood threats into the week.

A powerful storm system swept through the southern and midwestern U.S. over the weekend, unleashing deadly tornadoes and floods that killed at least 16 people.












 The storms swamped roads, disrupted flights, and triggered ongoing flood warnings across Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Arkansas.
